QUEEN OF THE NIGHT'S ARIA (From Mozart's Magic flute)

Writer's picture: SazihnoSazihno

Florence Foster Jenkins (1868 – 1944). Do you know what is funny about her? In Wikipedia, she is described as an amateur soprano. Really? Can we really call this lady a singer? I mean, there are much better expressions in the English language. She could be described as a screaming lady or a shouting lady… whatever. But please – calling her a singer is an offense for every musician – even for Akuma XRex.

Let's listen to one of her best performances. The Queen of the night's aria from Mozart's famous opera – The magic flute. This aria is considered to be one of the hardest pieces for soprano singers ever written. But, as you can see, Florence had no issues with that piece 😉

However – according to Wikipedia, she had even managed to build some career between 1920 and 1940. Even the famous Carus personally knew her and regarded her with respect.

She was a rich lady, a part of American aristocracy. Money was no issue for her, and self-confidence was one of her best qualities.

Just for those who are not familiar with classical music: listen to this singer how the aria should actually sound.

And the funniest thing: they made a film about her in 2016. And not a low – budget film, but a real film. Even Hugh Grant is acting there.

That's it... no more to say. What do you think about her? Leave your toughts down below in the comments.

See you soon
